Sweepstakes
 The ecstatic winners of the Green Wedding Sweepstakes are a Pacific Beach couple,
Jennifer Sheets and Nicholas Baughman. Luck seems to follow Jennifer. The
day she received the call notifying her that she and Nick had won a wedding
and a reception for 100, she had, earlier in the day, won the top prizes
in a drawing at work. Coincidentally, she is also the person in charge of
finding ways to help her company (First American eAppraisIT) become greener.
The couple’s sweepstakes win includes invitations, her wedding gown,
his tux, hair and makeup artists, the wedding/reception venue, officiant, catering,
cake, flowers, photography, videography, music, limo service, staffing and
party favors. They also have the services of Wedding Consultant Geneene Thornton
of Celebrations Event Planning to make sure their wedding plans go smoothly.
This wedding will be about as green as you can go today.
Jennifer, a bubbly 25 year old, was only convinced that she had won when she
and Nick showed up in the offices of San Diego Bride & Groom to have photographs
taken. She and Nick, 30, had met through the online dating service,tickle.com.
After they had corresponded for about a month, they met in person on December
10, 2003 and subsequently became inseparable. He proposed in front of her family
on December 30, 2007 at a party Jennifer’s family threw for Nick’s
30th birthday.
Jen, a San Diego native, entered the sweepstakes online at www.sandiegobrideandgroom.com.
In addition to her fulltime job as project coordinator for First American,
she is a part-time student at Mesa College. Nick attends San Diego State full
time and expects to earn a degree in Psychology.
Now that their wedding is paid for, they’ll have a flying headstart
in married life.
